Selkirk AMPED Pickleball Paddles

Selkirk Pickleball Paddle Epic AmpedThe Selkirk AMPED Pickleball Paddle comes in different shapes and weights. There are five shapes and two weight options in this series.

AMPED paddles include:

Selkirk Epic Pickleball Paddle

– This paddle has a versatile shape and comes with a long handle

Selkirk S2 Pickleball Paddle

– This paddle has the largest surface area

 Selkirk Omni Pickleball Paddle

– This paddle has a short handle and a long reach

 Selkirk Maxima Pickleball Paddle

– This paddle also has a long reach

 Selkirk Invikta Pickleball Paddle

– This paddle comes with a rectangular shape

Selkirk Epic Pickleball Paddle

Selkirk Epic Pickleball Paddle has a large sweet spot due to its square shape. It also comes with squared edges and a long handle. However, if you’re one of those players who want a larger sweet spot, the Selkirk S2 Pickleball Paddle provides a shorter handle but has the biggest surface area.

Selkirk Omni Pickleball Paddle

Selkirk Pickleball Paddle Omni

This paddle is ideal for players who are acquainted with ping pong or table tennis. The paddle offers a short handle but has a long reach. But if you’re looking for a long handle with the longest reach, check-out the Selkirk Maxima Pickleball Paddle.

Selkirk Invikta Pickleball Paddle

Selkirk Pickleball Paddle Invikta

here are some similarities between the Maxima and the Invikta. The two offer a long handle which equates to a long reach. But the Invikta is rectangular in shape. On the other hand, the Maxima has a rounded shape. Intermediate and beginners are bound to enjoy the Invikta paddle.

It’s important to note that AMPED Paddles deploy the X5 Core and FiberFlex face technology. The Fiberflex gives the player more spin control and bounces, due to the extra cushioning. The X5 CORE is a thick polypropylene polymer material which improves accuracy and reduces torque. Combined, these give a perfect blend of a flexible surface and a thick core.

The brand has gone a long way in the research and development of the Selkirk AMPED Paddle Series.

Selkirk PRIME Pickleball Paddles

Selkirk Pickleball Paddle Epic Prime

These paddles are well-priced due to the use of different materials in the manufacturing process.

This series has two paddles which include:

The PRIME series deploys the X4 core material which is thinner. Because of this, a seasoned player is likely to note the difference in place. Although the X4 is a high-performance material, thick material renders more control and power.

 Recreational Selkirk Pickleball Paddles

Pickleball Paddle NeoIn this series, you’ll find the Selkirk Neo Pickleball Paddle which is the most affordable. The paddle is manufactured also using the X4 Polypropylene polymer core.

However, the paddles in this series use PolyFlex material instead of the FiberFlex face. For this reason, they’re very inexpensive. However, it’s important to note that PolyFlex is not as flexible as the FiberFlex face and does not offer the same kind of spin and vibration dampening.

It’s important to note that NEO paddles score lower compared to the PRIME AND AMPED paddles. However, given their lower price point, they are great for beginners. The only difference between the NEO AND THE LATITUDE is the GRIP LENGTH and the size of the paddle. Otherwise, the face and core are the same.

 Pros of Selkirk Paddles

  • Selkirk Paddles offer FiberFlex face technology
  • Their paddles are made in the USA
  • Stylish surface designs
  • They deploy high-quality Polypropylene polymer core

As mentioned previously that Selkirk paddles are engineered to suit different playing styles and needs. Whether you need more spin control or a longer reach, they have paddles for all that.

Cons of Selkirk Paddles

Even the very best brands have shortcomings. Selkirk is no different. However, most of the drawbacks are to be found in the recreational paddles series.

  • The Latitude and NEW don’t have a large sweet spot.
  • Recreational series paddles are not as accurate.

Selkirk AMPED X5 Pickleball Paddles:

The Selkirk AMPED X5 paddle Series was released in 2017 fall. This series continues to push the technology limits used in the paddles industry. Since its inception, Pickleball players have really enjoyed the paddle, due to the patent-pending “FiberFlex Fiberglass” and the “X5” polypropylene core mentioned earlier. Although this series is one of the most expensive in the market, players have issued tons of positive feedback.

In fact, Selkirk’s flagship series (AMPED Paddles) is being favored over other paddles, there is grumblings of the company discontinuing other paddles.

Advanced and intermediate players are really enjoying the new core due to the power, touch and face it provides. If there is one complaint, it is that some players have complained that AMPED Paddles are on the heavy end of the weight spectrum.

After recognizing the weight issue, Selkirk made an announcement back in 2018 on their product line extension. The AMPED series now offers lightweight versions.

This was a brilliant idea because players are able to enjoy the benefits derived from a lighter version while still enjoying the X5 CORE feature.
