In the previous year’s tournament, Welshman Joel Makin triumphed over his English counterpart Mohamed ElShorbagy in a captivating all-British men’s final. As for the women’s singles champion title, New Zealand’s Joelle King created history becoming the first player to win this event twice by beating top seed Sarah-Jane Perry with sheer brilliance and skill.
For five days, the National Squash Centre will be transformed into a world-class squash venue with an extraordinary glass court set up in its indoor athletics track.
