The event’s first two rounds will take place at the University Club of Chicago – an esteemed location hosting the prestigious Platinum-level Windy City Open. After that, all games shall move inside downtown Chicago’s Grand Hall of Union Station – within a beautiful glass show court for the third round.
Over 128 of the top squash players in the world will prove their skills in a contest for part of an outstanding $1,000,000 prize pool between both male and female squash sport events.
Ali Farag and Nour El Sherbini, the defending World Champions, will return to win back-to-back titles as they defend their trophies. The renowned PSA World Championship have been hosted twice in Chicago, and Farag and El Sherbini have emerged victorious each time. In 2019 they were triumphant at Union Station, and then again on their return to the University Club of Chicago in 2021.
The United States’ No. 1 Amanda Sobhy will challenge for the women’s title alongside the likes of World No. 1 Nouran Gohar and New Zealand’s Joelle King, while Egypt’s Mostafa Asal, New Zealand’s Paul Coll, and Peru’s Diego Elias will be amongst the challengers trying to lift the men’s trophy for the first time.
